Hi all,
I'm getting started on the Proxmark3. As part of the process, I'm also putting down in writing my own findings and putting together all the bits of info I gathered on this forum, in the attempt to build some sort of users's guide/knowledgebase on the Proxmark3. Stuff like 'how to make sure it's working', 'what are the various versions of the firmware that exist', 'how do I flash over USB', 'why does the Proxmark3 hang when I do this or that' and all such info that probably sounds obvious to people who are already familiar with the device, and take a long time when you're just startin...
As part of the process, I wanted to ask if any of you knows whether I can get authorization from the author of the thesis on the "Analysis of the Mifare Classic" to reuse the excellent hardware description of the Proxmark3 which he put there, in my "Hardware description" chapter for the Proxmark3 users guide ?

hi edo512,
as I wrote the thesis you are talking about, I can say that you are free to copy that information in your chapter.
I like your idea to write down the steps you make and the problems you face. Actually, many people are probably facing the same problems and might have benefit from your work.
Good job!
I have the description in latex, so if you mail me, I can send it to you (g.dekoninggans____________at____________cs.ru.nl)

Dear edo512,
An awesome idea! Let me know if you are agree to share it on the main page of this website.
Currently we are setting up a wiki-page for the www.libnfc.org project. I'm considering to do this for the Proxmark, let me know if you think that would be useful.
cheers,
Roel

Following on on this thread, here is my first attempt at a user's manual:
https://www.lafargue.name/proxmark3/
After discussion with Roel, we'll also probably release it in PDF format, wiki also sounds good, this would enable more people to contribute - in the mean time, you can add your contributions, feedback, etc to this thread, I'll update the manual.
Hoping you will like this,
Ed

... did a few updates today (you can check the changelog on the first page), included the new hi15reader / hi15sim commands, more details on other existing commands etc. Feedback welcome.
If anyone would like to contribute on specific parts - examples, firmware development, electronics, etc - please contact me.

a small detail you might want to fix is the url of this forum on your front page. it's proxmark.org rather than proxmark3.org
