Hello I am new with mifare classic cards..
I would need some help and advise from you...
I need to copy 1 card to another one... (clone)
what do I need to do?
do I need a blank card?? or can I copy an already used card?
I bought this reader /writer http://www.ebay.com/itm/RFID-13-56Mhz-Mifare-ISO14443A-reader-writer-USB-SDK-5-Free-S50-cards-/121293957996?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c3daeeb6c
is it good?
do I need something better?
another question is:
can I edit my own card info??
lets say I have 1 travel or 1 usd... can I edit that info?
thanks so much for your time
regards

depends on how the system works?
I find most access control read/write to sector 14, ignoring the cards UID - if this is the case you should have everything you need.
If the UID is used? your going to need a UID changeable card (xfpga [dot] com sell them), not sure if the software is compatible with the reader above, you may need to purchase a ACR-122U which is also available on the same site.

If you have android phone with NFC support, try to read it with apps like MCT.

Thanks, I know about android phones, and I know there is software to do the job...
I have tested, and it's working, to save a dump from my own card....
but, if I write my card backup, to another card, card will not work....
and thats whats the interesting part to do...
what about editing my own card values? is it possible?
so, do you advise ACR-122U?
thanks

No, I personally wouldn't recommend ACR-122U because it works bad with libnfc. Get SCL3712 or 3711. You can also ask your question on libnfc forum.

I've been running the ACR-122U for more more than 6 years now, not too many problems; I had to resolder my reader once. I suppose Vivat is right that it can be fiddly at times especially getting the PCSC middle layer to work.
Mfoc works ok on the ACR122U, but I've hard problems with certain Mifare cards with mfcuk.
The SCL3712/11 and the PN532 serial reader are good alternatives.

ooko, so, maybe I can buy both...
I found acr122u but not the other...
where to buy the other?
do you know if dumps can be written to another card??
do you know uf I can edit my own card dump?
thanks
Offline
well, I bought acr122u, and I need where to buy the other...
SCL3712 or scl3711
I found only scl3711 on txsystems dot com
scl3712, I found only the cable....
whats the difference between 3711 and 3712?
do you know where to buy the better?
thanks
Offline
scl3711 can only read, it seems.... and it seems 3712 too...
am I right??
Offline
No, it's true NFC device. It can act as NFC initiator or target.

ok, thanks, I will try to get it...
is it the same 3711 and 3712?
please, I need to know this:
can I copy a card to other with this?? (clone)
if not uid is involved, can I pass my data to another card?
can I edit my own card data?
thanks

What do you mean? Same NFC chip?
please, I need to know this:

It depends on how your system is configured.
if not uid is involved, can I pass my data to another card?
If it checks for correct UID, you will also need special chinese changeable UID mifare cards.
can I edit my own card data?
Yes, you can edit the dumps with your favorite hex editor.

no, I meant, you advised me 3711 and 3712, whats the difference?
what do you mean with "my system"??
so, I would only need special chinese cards, if UID is involved
and you say, I could change my dump with hex editor...
well, here my new doubt...
lets suppose, I have my card, with my own data...
and someone else's card, and dump with his data...
could I copy my data into that card??
is data always stored on same fields?
I still dont know too much about this...
maybe I need to wait for my new reader to come and test
thanks

I will try to explain better...
lets suppose I have 2 card dumps...
could I exchange data between them??
lets suppose again, we know sensitive data (money on card) is stored in sector 5
what happens if I copy my sector five, into the other dump, and then write dump back tp card?

Please stop helping him, he is clearly tring to avoid paying something; info are here and in other sites so if he wants to "do something" let him first learn something: you have to search and study my friend!

Asper, you are right. This thread starts to look like another spoon-feeding.

I am just asking info... I did not see this info treated here before...
I want to learn, before I get my new readers....
I know readers will be with me in 1 month with luck...
Offline
I said I bought a reader writer, but it seems useless with all softwares...
so I wanted to learn before I get new ones....
it this too much?? or maybe you dont know the answer??
no, really, I think its a smart question....
what happens changing sectors from one dump to another....
I think its a good question....
I dont know if CRC or something similar is envolved here....
I know a little about reversing apps, and I can code too... but I have no idea about this........ YET
thanks

This kind of questions are not smart at all; as vivat says, you want to be spoon-feeded and you are also tring to fool us with ridiculous justifications (we don't know the answers... pics of what you bought...). We do not care if you are going to buy hardware without software.
I kindly ask the closure/removal of this thread to avoid other people like him to "join" the stupidity cause.

why not??
I am new, and I dont know if this can be done or not...
as I said, I am coder, I know reverse eng, but I still dont know about mifare cards
I know now, dump can be edited....
but, I dont know if we must fix crc or something else later
what software you want me to buy?
is that the problem?
do I need to buy somethig else? tell me and I buy....
I dont know what the problem is sir.....
Offline
I am not asking to be spoon feeded...
it was a simple question.... can this be done or not??
if yes, I will not ask HOW, if you can, just give me please a hint, or paper to read, or what specific name to search and read... thats all.....
thanks

Nicogalan,
If you don't want to be spoon fed, read through the forums where many people have already cracked mifare using various techniques, software and hardware.
Another resource is http://nfc-tools.org/
Search for ACR122.
