ID Card Keyfobs Q5 Bobsleigh Sokymat

would you consider Q5 as good alternative to T55x7 fob or tag

If someone offers what price level? what you need to ask?

Re: ID Card Keyfobs Q5 Bobsleigh Sokymat

I haven't any experience yet with Q5. Because it is read/writable 125kHz I like to buy some to study Q5 command and what we can do with Q5 ... hence my questions.

I could be wrong, but I believe the q5 = t5555 (made around 2001) which was the first generation of the ata55x7 series that were made later.

Re: ID Card Keyfobs Q5 Bobsleigh Sokymat

I have searched by " wiki what is +Q5 +T55x7 +weakness advantage" not nothing useful comes up

One thing I know people in RFID use Q5 or T55x7 to write to but why only these two type where EM4305 is WR too according to this https://www.hidglobal.com/sites/hidglobal.com/files/resource_files/idt-tag-embded-RFID-products-ct-en.pdf

interesting is weakness or advantage comparision between them, perhaps in economic sense too.

Re: ID Card Keyfobs Q5 Bobsleigh Sokymat

Thanks asper for the link.

I dare to say followings:
1/ the T5555 or Q5 is earlier in development
2/ the format of config block is slily different, but manageable.
3/ can be overwritten 100K times, with the newer T55x7 I have read some where could be overwritten 200K times (but who has time to o.w. 100K times)
4/ Q5 come in fob form; T55x7 mostly in card form, unless you order a bag to your will.
5/ can get with less than 50P GB Sterling for one Q5, whereas more than £2.5 or 12$ for one T55x7

so unless someone shouts out loud "Stop, it won't be good when ..." I think for study purpose Q5 is very interesting on price level.

Ah, point to consider maybe: what is about functions in PM3? is there a complete suite of commands for Q5 like for T55x7

Re: ID Card Keyfobs Q5 Bobsleigh Sokymat

Wrong from me. Found this link where you can custom order in batch of min 100 pcs (as opposite to customer order usually means 10,000pcs) , not sure how much it then will cost per piece

But very confused with specification they lists up next to the product

"

125KHZ T5577 clear Access control,   identification, tickets Rfid Disc Tag or Custom Tags

    IC available at 125 KHz
    EM4200, EM4102, TK4100, Temic5577, Hi tag 1, Hitag2, HitagS256, HitagS2048
    IC available at 13.56 MHz
    NXP Mifare1 S50, NXP Mifare1 S70, Mifare1 Ultra light, I-code SLI, Ti2048, Ti256, Legic mim256"

can someone explains howto understand this list? a T55x7 could operate at 125Khz or 13.56KHz, EM, or HiTag, Mifare or Legic or how to understand these features
