Hello,
Not sure if this is possible before I actually brick my RDV4, is it possible to flash the firmware and bootrom of the device over BlueShark?

While i have not looked at the code yet, I will assume not.
The boot loader would need to support the BlueShark. As such, the code would need to be in the boot loader and compiled with the correct options, then pushed via usb. At this point it could work (if the code was there).
That said, if if supported, I would expect it to be much faster over usb.

Well, I have a slightly less-than-optimal USB port. I've already flashed my RDV4 previously with the blueshark capability, now I'm just curious if I can keep it updated via bluedolphin

Well there you go If the boot loader supports the bluetooth/shark then it would just be normal com port traffic.
My view is simple. If you are not touching the boot loader and just sending the os, then worst case is the os fails but the boot loader is still there, so you should be able to re-flash the os again (may need to hold down the button to tell the boot loader to hold on).
If you fail with the bootloader, then you will need to jtag.

Since the serial over FPC is a bit fidgy with loss of packages we (Doegox and I) decided not to let the flasher update over FPC.
Of course you can, but its much faster / safer to do it over usb.
