Going to try again

See my previous posts for failed attempts at getting a PM3 running, but I am going to try again.  It looks like the latest files are now on Github.

Is this the right place to start? -> https://github.com/Proxmark/proxmark3/wiki/Windows

big_smile   Right, assuming I was going to use Win 7 x64  (I may try with Linux again too as I have just upgraded to the latest Redhat LTS version)

Re: Going to try again

Step 3:

Download "ProxSpace-20100226-r390.7z" from: http://code.google.com/p/proxmark3/downloads/list

That file does not exist at that URL.

Should I be downloading "ProxSpace-130613.7z" or something else?

Re: Going to try again

Also, reading ahead:

Download the Proxmark drivers ("ProxSpace-Driver-Current.7z") from here: http://code.google.com/p/proxmark3/downloads/list
[NOTE: if your proxmark has a firmware greater than r654 (old google code naming) you will need the new CDC serial drivers contained in pm3-bin-756 (cdc+lua).rar that is also available in the above link - more info in this paragraph]

How do I tell what firmware revision my PM3 has before I get it installed?  I bought it online from China last March and I am not sure the seller is even still around.

Hi folks - any advice?  I want to get this right the first time and the documentation is pointing to a nonexistent file...

Re: Going to try again

Thank you!

I had seen that post but since the 1st one in the thread was from March 2013, I thought it was old.  I see now it has been kept updated.  I guess I will try with Windows first maybe Linux later.

I have downloaded PM3-bin-0.0.5.   I still am not sure, however how to proceed.  There are drivers for the 'new serial interface' and the 'old usb interface'.  How do I know which one to use?  I don't know what firmware is flashed on my PM3.

Re: Going to try again

The incorrect driver won't install so you can try without fear. If you have old libusb you should consider to update to the new cdc-serial firmware because libusb is no more supported.
