Trouble with Driver

Just got the pm3 and ran into trouble when I got to the driver step of the install.  I'm using Windows 10, so I think this may be causing the issue?  Either way I downloaded and extracted the "Proxmark-Driver-2012-01-15.7z" file and when I connected the pm3 and went to my devices I got the images below.

It appears to have installed some Windows driver, and I'm not given an option to change it.  Any thoughts on how to correct this?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Trouble with Driver

Can the client connect to com3?  The pm3 driver is not signed so you will need to boot to a special boot mode to install the nonsigned driver.

Re: Trouble with Driver

Same problem here , I switched to Linux , that's better in many ways.
If your bound to windows10 you can install vmware this program is signed and allows to run Linux from inside.
avoiding the whole singing B*ll-sh*t
W10 is not useful anyway if you prefer privacy.
since everything running on it strait to Redmond.

Re: Trouble with Driver

So I went ahead and i tired to install it on my computer running Windows 7 and ran into an issue at the same spot.  When I initially plug in the pm3 I get the message below.

Then I went to locate the pm3 on the device manager, and it wasn't under HID's, but I did find an unknown device under other devices which did not have a driver installed.

When I went to select the "ProxMark-3_RFID_Instrument" driver I was only able to select a folder, and not an actual file.  So I selected the "proxmark_driver" folder and got the message below.

Am I just missing something simple here?

Thanks

Re: Trouble with Driver

Have you disabled driver signature verification? There is a similar problem affecting Windows 8.1.

Re: Trouble with Driver

I did when I tried on Windows 10, but not on Windows 7 as I did not think it was necessary on 7 and it did try an install a driver, unlike before I disabled it on 10.

Re: Trouble with Driver

If you have run windows updates on windows 7 they've added the driver signing requirements...   Reboot and hit f8 and select to disable driver signatures.   This is the only current successful option on all up to date windows systems from win 7 up...

Re: Trouble with Driver

I turned off the driver signature requirements, and still have the same result....

Re: Trouble with Driver

Does the pm3 have the correct bootrom or a very very old bootrom?

Have you tried different USB ports?  Are you sure you have the correct driver?

Re: Trouble with Driver

Also you tried specifying that you had a disk for the driver instead of searching for it?

Re: Trouble with Driver

Sorry for my inexperience here, but how can I tell which bootroom I have?

Also, I did try multiple USB ports and this is the driver I'm trying to use. Do not have a disk.

Re: Trouble with Driver

I tried the driver from the .rar file and it seems to have worked.  Hopefully the rest goes fairly smoothly.  Appreciate all of the help!
