How to write FDX-B ISO 11784/5 tag?

I bought several writeable FDX-B tags and I am familiar with identifying and reading tags with PM3. So far I have never written a tag, so this might be a bit of a newbee question.

My tag (and PM3 versions):

So how can I wrote my own data in this tag? Which commands do I need? I also have the windows GUI but I see no reference to FDX-B or ISO 11784/5 for writing.

There are a large number of chips that can be used for the fdx b format.  You'll need to identify the exact chip.  Then if that chip doesn't yet have a write operation in the pm3 firmware, you'll need to add it with data from the chip datasheets and code it.

How do I find out the chip?

You could ask your supplier for the details and a datasheets.

You could try the lf t55xx detect method of the pm3, if it happened to be that chip it might detect.

You could disassemble the chip and attempt to identify it if it has any markings inside it.

Re: How to write FDX-B ISO 11784/5 tag?

So far I found similar tags with em4100, em4200, em4205, em4305 chips. my supplier didn't list the chip... Does this make my question (how to write / clone to this tag) easier?

I have found out if you dip your fob/card  in solvent-thinner (other word for a glue thinner) such as "No1 Solvent thinner 1L" for 10', then you can carve\fish out your microchip and even the delicate antenna, very easily, just with a toothpick.
