Proxmark3 RDV 4.0 LF Card Troubles

I got my device only yesterday and am slowly getting to grips with the complex world of RFID. I am enjoying the challenge so far!

Anyway, I am trying to identify and clone an access card which I believe to be LF but would love if someone could suggest where I might have gone wrong.

Running 'hw tune' with nothing on my device:

Measuring antenna characteristics, please wait.........
# LF antenna: 68.20 V @ 125.00 kHz
# LF antenna: 38.36 V @ 134.00 kHz
# LF optimal: 68.20 V @ 125.00 kHz
# HF antenna: 45.24 V @ 13.56 MHz
Displaying LF tuning graph. Divisor 89 is 134khz, 95 is 125khz.

Running 'hw tune' with access card on device:

Measuring antenna characteristics, please wait.........
# LF antenna: 52.66 V @ 125.00 kHz
# LF antenna: 44.69 V @ 134.00 kHz
# LF optimal: 58.30 V @ 127.66 kHz
# HF antenna: 46.06 V @ 13.56 MHz
Displaying LF tuning graph. Divisor 89 is 134khz, 95 is 125khz.

So I assume, from these results, it's a Low Frequency card given the change in V. However when I run 'lf search' I get:

NOTE: some demods output possible binary
if it finds something that looks like a tag
False Positives ARE possible

Checking for known tags:

#db# Uknown frame length: 2

No Data Found! - maybe not an LF tag?

The card isn't from somewhere I would expect to have top notch security so I am confused what might be causing this, I thought LF cards were the easiest to identify/clone.

Oh and mega stupid side question: on the latest RDV 4.0 am I right in thinking the HF and LF antenna are both enclosed in the device. I've seen youtube vids of people with Red, Blue and Black antenna attachments?

Re: Proxmark3 RDV 4.0 LF Card Troubles

That looks like a failed Hitag2 attempt to read UID.
The current implementation of Hitag2 signal could be better,   there is patches coming that way.
Until then, you will need to reposition your tag until the UID is printed

See this issue for alternative commands with better success of reading the tag uid.
